Code.org: This is one of the best sites for students to learn the fundamentals of coding, improving logical reasoning and problem solving skills. The website creates puzzles for students to solve while teaching the basics of block coding! The Website is designed for students K-5, 6-12 and beyond, and is widely respected and praised in the educational community. Once students get a hang of things, direct them to the hour of code lessons and they’ll have some fun projects to work on.

Freerice: for every trivia question you answer correctly this website donates 10 grains of rice to the world food program to end world hunger. Wonderful uyse of your downtime and every little bit helps.

Nasa Kids Club: truly magnificent website for kids by NASA. Explore space from your screen by the people who know it best.

PBS STEM game Challenge: Great selection of games that act as early learning tools for kids ages 3-8. Lots of curious george, chickens and dinosaurs!

Sporcle: One of the oldest and best selection of trivia and quizes on the internet. Because this website is huge please stick to the quizes on this study guide as there is a lot of junk to sift through, but these guides are the absolute best.

Suffolk Kids: great selection of recycling games.

Typing Club: Many of WSNS students already have an account with typing club. Its a great way to learn typing and practice spelling. Many students share their scores with each other and compete for first place. A good way to keep them engaged with their classmates and keep up with their technical skills.

K/1 Computer challenges: The following links direct students to games that help improve rudimentary cimputer skills with a touchpad or mouse and keyboard. They are fun and easy to learn and you’ll be amazed by how quickly students can pick up on these skills when engaged.

Mouse games or Code.org are two of the best links I can provide on this. The Mouse games are great for computer coordination and code.org has many hours of learning to digest, with projects ranging from early readers to high school age programing.
